Hello, Dear Parent Friends of the Web!
Here is a touch of my wisdom... to make a difference in the tapestry of life.
To Execute Thought
By means of Recorded Language and Communication
All facets of human
exploration find their roots in recorded history. The essence of all
knowledge has thus borne ground, through time and space, in the
field of writing. It demarcates the voice of humanity that would be
unsustainable merely through the volatile spoken word.
The human
hand has, indeed, played an indispensable role in this regard. The
implementation of diverse instruments, through prehensile
coordination - beginning with rocks, chisels, reeds, fingers, and
another whole range of refinement as that of the pencil, the pen, the
brush, the keyboard, and the touch-pad (as seen in our present
world of cutting edge technology) - has, no doubt, fashioned the human
mind along its course into the future.
Whatever
the medium of expression might be, writing is the art of communication
in human civilization. Its development and cultivation, hand in
hand, must take place from the very moment a young child begins to
display sufficient coordination and interest.
Writing,
from an academic perspective, of course, entails its stages of
refinement - from the formation of impressions, through
penmanship, understanding words and their formations (by means of their
derivatives, annexations, and word families), pronunciation and
spelling, parts of speech, grammar and syntax, critical thinking and
analysis, culminating in the practice of journalistic skills.
Nelunika Gunawardena Rajapakse will be happy to walk you through this journey of informed parenting. Please contact her to participate in a useful discussion of how we, as parents and
mentors of the child, may walk unobtrusively beside the child, to
guide him along his journey of life-exploration through writing.
Let me walk you along the path of peace and grace. Humanity cries out loud for help.
